Plukon Food Group "Volwaard"

Started in 2007, Volwaard is the result of a unique collaboration between the Plukon Food Group and its farmers. Respect for consumer preferences and animal welfare is the credo behind the Volwaard concept. Together with supermarkets and the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals (DSPA) they are striving for further improvements in animal welfare. The birds get twice as much space than is standard, an outdoor covered area and 100% vegetarian feed. The Volwaard chicken has a better life and is also backed by the "Better Life" hallmark of the DSPA.
